Heyo, I'm Ryan. I'm a Dad, Husband, and software engineer at DELV working on https://hyperdrive.box, a DeFi protocol for fixed and multiplied variable rates, and https://github.com/delvtech/drift, a TS lib for writing and testing cached contract interactions.

My background includes UI / UX, full-stack dev, and people management. I love TypeScript and am learning to love Rust. I also love the NBA, geopolitics, and geography.

I haven't been on a forum like this since Flagstation & PBNation (iykyk), but I'm excited to see what it becomes.

Nice to meet you all :)

Hi!,

Juan Blanco here, many thanks for doing this Kelvin. Hopefully this is as good and brings many types of discussions and categories like the old forums, and it is a great success.

What I do, Nethereum, vscode solidity and consultancy.

Figured I might as well join in!

I'm Kelvin, I've been working on Optimism over at OP Labs for almost five years now. I was working on making Plasma functional before that (back when Plasma was a thing). So it's been almost entirely L2s since 2016! I don't intend to stop working on L2s anytime soon.

I started this forum because I've been feeling like Ethereum has become more and more isolated as the years have gone by. It's felt like everyone is getting increasingly upset at one another and we're not working together like we used to. I've come to feel pretty strongly that one of the main sources of this isolation is Twitter. Our primary platform for communication actively incentivizes ragebait, hot takes, and dunks! Content that promotes reasonable discussion simply doesn't get presented on our feeds.

Anyway, I'll probably make a sticky post with more about that, but that's where I'm coming from. I'd like to get a chance to chat with more of you either over the forum or in person! Here's to a better future for Ethereum.

be cool if there was

1) a place for folks to post article drafts for comments. I have folks ask me that in dm all the time, if I will review, and if I know anyone else.

2) I think also cool if we had a list of the EIP / ERC related telegram groups in one place, b/c how is a dev gonna find those?

wdyt?

Hey everyone! I go by DiscoverCrypto1 on X and I'd like to think I'm a cryptonative, perpetually onchain. I'm always keeping up to date with the latest developments in the Ethereum ecosystem, including the L1, base, OP, arbitrum, etc. I'm obsessed with the technical developments, even though I'm not a programmer or developer. I've got experience editing videos, I run a few YouTube channels, and I love communicating and interfacing with everyday people about crypto!

Hi everyone, I'm Leo.

Thank you Kelvin for creating this forum - I agree that something like this is needed within the Ethereum community, and I hope this takes off!

A bit about me - I'm passionate about decentralizing social media as I view that to be an extremely dangerous vector for centralization of power.

This led me to start Maitri, which is a project to rearchitect social media in a way which not only decentralizes it but puts the user first and attempts to learn from the way we interact with each other offline. This means having an interoperability layer for different social media applications and social graphs, having an infrastructure layer for mapping how we belong to groups and communities called Community Graphs, and exploring reputation systems, especially toward sybil protection and anti-collusion.

I'm also very passionate about Ethereum. I recently launched a project called Guardians of the Ether to incentivize solo staking. It grants a non-transferable NFT to anyone running their own node or a RocketPool node, and they can upgrade it over time.

Anyway, that's a brief summary - looking forward to getting to know everyone!
